Despite not being new to background removals, the lesson regarding background removes was very useful and I definitely learnt new stuff.
Being the lazy photoshop guy that I tend to be, I often use refine edge, which is amazing and I definitely do advise this if you need a quick background removal, however if you want to portray yourself as professional, accurate and one who concentrates on detail then like Dean (conzpiracy) says, the best way forward is to use the ‘Pen Tool’
Why is important to use the ‘Pen Tool’?
I think it is important to use the Pen Tool purely because of how much control you are in. With refine edge, you are in control, however it is basically through sliders which is not ideal. With the Pen Tool you can cut exactly what you want however you want it! All be it you might be there for a very long, but nevertheless the outcome will be good and professional’.
